I am Edith and I'm your wet market and cooking tour hostess. If you want to find out where and how Hong Kongers pick up their groceries for their daily meals and then cook up a storm in their typically small but functional kitchens, take a 3-hour culinary journey with me.
For starters, we will be taking a short ferry ride across the harbour from the meeting point to Aberdeen but along the way, we will sample a couple of local eats to tide us over until lunch time. At the wet market, we will see an array of colourful exotic fruits and vegetables. The seafood stalls will boast fresh shellfish and live fish that are more fresh than you can imagine! We may even pick up a few more ingredients for our cooking class.
After this fun experience we will take a short bus ride back to my humble home to prep the ingredients to create your own meal, supervised by ME!
Your menu will depend on what YOU choose when you register for a cooking tour. Upon informing me of any food allergies/restrictions, we will be able to come up with a 3-dish menu that will suit omnivores, herbivores or carnivores alike. Of course, I will be more than happy to make suggestions as there is a host of signature dishes in my repertoire that is sure to please.
Last part of the experience is to sit and enjoy a well-deserved home-cooked meal, together with some hot tea.
